Day 1: Quito

Arrival transfer from Quito International Airport to your hotel.

Day 2: Quito Colonial City Tour

After breakfast, we will start our Colonial City Tour;bustling streets and squares of oneof the largest historical old towns inthe Americas; a multi-ethnic, artistic,and cultural heritage destination.

Day 3: Quito – Peguche-Cotacachi– MagdalenaKaranki Community

Visit the traditional looms and Andeanhandcrafted instruments of Peguche.Then visit Magdalena, once home toAtahualpa, the last Incan emperor andmeet the Karanki community in aparadise lost in time amongst llamasand condors, peaceful lagoons and thepatchwork slopes of Imbabura Volcano.Admire the beauty of their embroidery,share their everyday shepherding andharvesting activities and stand face-to-facewith a people untouched by theurgencies of modern life.

Overnight in a comfortable room inside the communitywith private facilities and hot water,taste a homemade Andean meal anddiscover this natural mountain realmwith optional activities like horsebackriding, mountain biking, or hiking thenearby hills.

Day 4: Ibarra –ChaskiAntawa Train – Salinas -Otavalo Market – Quito

Visit the famous Otavalo craft fair; driveto Ibarra and catch the ChaskiAntawatrain. The landscapes provide a magicalsetting, pass through mysterioustunnels, cross high-rising bridges andadmire a unique biodiversity. Arrive inSalinas, an Afro-Ecuadorian communitythat is well known for its agriculturalactivities.

Day 5: Quito – Baos-Riobamba

Drive south of Quito into the Avenueof the Volcanoes. Admire Cotopaxi up close. Visit Baos, Gateway to the Amazon, travel to Riobamba;panoramic city tour.

Day 6: Riobamba – Alaus’ -Ingapirca – Cuenca

Start your day with a drive throughsome of the most picturesqueindigenous areas of the country.Take the DevilÕs Nose train rideand continue your way south to theIngapirca Ruins, then arrive in Cuenca.

Day 7: Cuenca City Tour

Let its cobblestone streets, gracefulwrought-iron balconies, and flower-filledplazas captivate you. A visitto a straw-hat export company isscheduled for the afternoon.

Day 8: Cuenca – El Cajas -Guayaquil

Visit the awe-inspiring El CajasNational Park, known for its beautifullandscapes and at least 200 lagoons,including La Toreadora Lake. Arrive inGuayaquil.

Day 9: Guayaquil

Transfer out. End of services.
