SUN – Day 1. San Salvador
Breakfast. Departure to Joya de Ceren, the most important archaeological discovery in the past 50 years throughout Latin America: a Mayan village which shows how common social groups of the Mayans lived, the community was buried under the ashes of the eruption of a volcano, which is why it is known as the Pompeii of America. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Typical dinner and accommodation

MON -Day 2. San Salvador – Apaneca
Breakfast. We will visit first the city of Izalco, a major in history from pre-Columbian times and the colonial period. One major area occupied by the «lordship of Izalco,» significant indigenous authority found by colonizers. We then drive to the picturesque town of Nahuizalco, «the four Izalcos» according to its meaning in language Náhuat. This indigenous-colonial city is known for its work on wicker and wood in which handicrafts are available for costumers. Alter this visit, we will go to the city of Juayúa, in Náhuat it means «River of purple orchids,» and where there is history and the backbone of the economy in the coffee plantations, item important to sustaining the economy of the country for over a hundred years. Then we will visit the beautiful town of Apaneca to enjoy a delicious lunch in a restaurant in the area, finally we will go to a coffee farm to observe different coffee plantations. Here we visit the only private archaeological site of El Salvador: the Monolitos or Gordinflones, located on a terrace built by the indigenous people who were believed laid the foundation for the development of what later became the Mayan culture. Dinner and Accommodation in Apaneca.

TUE -DAY 3. Apaneca – Chalchuapa – San Salvado
Breakfast. This day, we will travel to Chalchuapa, pokomame pre-Columbian origin, in the Nahuat language this means «Place where jadeitas (little jade) abound.» Here we visit the archaeological site El Tazumal where we can admire the pyramids and visit the local museum. Around El Tazumal are available retorts of original pieces for sale. Then we move toward San Andres, pre-Columbian ceremonial center where we will see several structures (pyramids) semi-discovered and the historical museum. Dinner and accommodation.

WED – DAY 4. San Salvador – Suchitoto
Breakfast.
Departure to the archaeological site Cihuatán.Cihuatán in the nahuat language means «City of Women.» This site reaches an area of 2 miles2 and used to be a ceremonial center. This is an archaeological site with remains of a large city; this is without doubt one of the archaeological treasures of Central America. We will see the ball court and other structures as altars. The «Ball Game» was a major ceremonial activity that the Indians had; they played it with highly elastic rubber balls. Then we visit the town of Suchitoto, where we will take our lunch, in the afternoon we take a tour boat on Suchitlan Lake, return to San Salvador. Lodging.

THU – DAY 5. San Salvador – Airp0rt
Breakfast,
